Welcome to Farm-to-Table!

Farm-to-Table is a multi-faceted nonprofit started in 1998, dedicated to building a sustainable local food system for eastern Montana. Here's how we have invested our time and resources.

Food Development Center & Commercial Kitchen

We have invested and borrowed money in 2014 to open the Glendive Food Development Center in the EPEC, a state-approved shared-use Commercial Kitchen that will increase opportunities for value-added food production in our region. It is available to rent by the hour, day, or month for local food entrepreneurs to get their foods to the public and in grocery stores and restaurants. For questions about the Commercial Kitchen, contact Jan Kruger at 939-1482.

The Farm-to-Table Store

The Farm-to-Table Store, opened in 2008, features local food as well as organic, bulk and allergy sensitive foods, plus supplements. It's open daily at 313 S. Merrill Avenue in the EPEC Building, in Glendive, Montana.

Glendive Farmers Market

The Saturday Farmers Market in the EPEC parking lot features fresh local food from area farmers from 9-noon every Saturday from June to October. For information on other local Farmers Markets please visit our Local Buyers Guide.

Glendive Community Garden

After a several year absence, we have a Community Garden location in Highland Park, near the park ball field. It will use Buffalo Rapids irrigation water and will cost $10 for a 10x20 plot. Contact county agent Bruce Smith to sign up, or for more information call 377-4277.

DCC Culinary Arts Program

We have assisted Dawson Community College in their planning process for a Culinary Arts program. Montana has adopted FDA standards, so in 2015 all food establishments will need to have someone on-staff trained in ServeSafe. We look forward to the day the culinary program—with a connection to local producers—is training chefs and food service managers for our region and beyond.

The Prairie Development Center

We rent office/small business space at the Prairie Development Center at 313 W. Valentine Street. We are working on short term housing upstairs to include showers and laundry to fill a drastic need in our community.

Other programs

Future projects include a restaurant at the GTA elevator site, and a food warehouse for storage of farmers produce.

You can help support us

You can support Farm-to-Table by becoming a member of the Farm-to-Table Co-op, for $500 a share. It's an ag marketing co-op that will market a member's produce and products to local stores, restaurants, and food services, etc.
